We want to participate in adding back some pride and prestige to the "Made in the USA" tag that is seen less and less. This firm stance has led us to the decision to use only t-shirts that are made by American workers on American soil in sweatshop-free environments. Additionally, our screen printing process also takes place right in the US so rest assured you are getting something that is 100% American in labor and production! In the world of screen printing the ink is either plastisol or water-based and in the world of graphic t-shirts plastisol reigns! Plastisol inks are basically PVC plastic in liquid form. It is easily one of the most toxic plastics produced with damaging ecological consequences and a known cancer-causing carcinogen. The life cycle of PVC from its production to its use and disposal results in the release of toxic, chlorine-based chemicals. Additionally the use of plastisol by most screen printers also leads to the use of harmful cleaning solvents required to remove the ink from the equipment.

All Pop Cotton t-shirts are printed exclusively with water-based inks. They contain no plastic polymer or highly toxic chemicals and their removal from equipment is more eco-friendly to our environment. The graphics on t-shirts printed with water-based inks are known for their "soft hand" feel whereas with plasticol printing the ink feels thick and heavy on the fabric. Another great advantage to t-shirts printed with water-based inks is the ability to iron them. Ironing a shirt with plasticol will melt the ink since it is plastic-based.
